Helix Lab
is a contact improvisation-based
research + performance Laboratory,
investigating our humanity through our bodies.
We facilitate intensive workshops and dance laboratories,
and devise experimental performances and group experiences.
Artist’s Statement:
For me, contact improvisation dance is a way of devising radical new ways of being together.
It’s about how we human + how we can human.
It is a practice of non-verbal inquiry into physics - physical physics + relational physics + spiritual physics.
It is a practice of falling + allowing one another to fall.
It’s a never-ending ledger of questions about perception + occurrence.
Sometimes alone, sometimes with other, I roll on the floor + discover something new.
